Belle Baby Carrier in Black

We bought the Belle carrier even though we already had an Ergo because our daughter just wasn't happy facing in and staring at our chest. We thought the Belle would be better than a Baby Bjorn because it has a waistbelt to transfer weight to the hips (like the Ergo). The Belle is definitely less comfortable than the Ergo -- less padding and it positions our daughter in a lower and more awkward position. And this last point is the main thing that makes this carrier a bad choice for me. Our daughter likes to kick her legs when in the carrier, and, well, let's just say the trajectory of her heels are lined up perfectly with a certain sensitive spot of my male anatomy. OUCH! -- over and over again. I've tried to fashion some make-shift stirrups to limit the kicking, but I would NOT recommend this carrier to any dads that have babies with active legs! Or -- if you really like the Belle, I'd recommend purchasing something like this to go along with your carrier

I just ordered this carrier two weeks ago and can't seem to go anywhere without it. I searched high and low for organic baby carriers that were ergonomic and specifically designed for younger babies. After trying 3 (Ergo, Bjorn and Baby Hawk) this is by far the winner!!! My daughter fits perfectly into it and she nestles against me and seems so content. I had troubles initially nursing in it, however, now I've got it down pat and can nurse without much effort. I love that this carrier is made in the US as well - nothing like creating jobs!

Ok, I'm off to walk the dog and enjoy some quality time with my daughter in the Belle!

We bought this after trying out the baby bjorn that made our shoulders and neck hurt. We really like the waist strap - it distributes the baby's weight so our shoulders and upper back dont get strained as quickly. Our baby is a little small and although you can twist the straps out to fold the front down, we found it more effective to fold up a burp cloth under the baby to lift her up. One con is that we havent had much success with laying her down with out disturbing her when she falls asleep in the carrier. Overall, we're glad we traded in the other carrier.

I love this carrier because it is so compact, convenient and stylish! I can stash it in my diaper bag when I'm not using it, and it is super easy to take on and off.
