When first-time Susan Gmeiner began experimenting with several baby carriers, she knew that she wanted a carrier that wouldn’t put much strain on her back, but would continue to keep her baby content. The first idea of Maya Wrap was sparked when Susan had a successful experience when she borrowed a friend’s ring sling. She quickly came up with a pattern of her own, which was an instant hit with her family and friends.

The Maya Wrap company officially began in 1996 and has continued to produce stylish, comfortable and fully adjustable carriers for parents and their children. Their mission is to create safe and innovative products that are designed to simplify a busy parent’s life.

Today, Maya Wrap carriers are popular amongst savvy parents as well as with celebrity parents. In addition to the original sling design, Maya Wrap has expanded their product line to include lightly padded slings and Maya Ties (Mei Tai carriers).
